A little about Teri...
​
Teri has 26 years of experience with Colorado Works. She began her career in Pueblo County as a Case Manager when welfare reform began in 1996. From 2013-2020 she was a trainer with the Colorado Department of Human Services. She trained case managers all over the state bringing her compassion and a deep understanding of the program ranging from participants needs to the policy structure that was created to serve them. She looks forward to working with participants and helping them reach their potential. She can be reached at tws@hashtagpossible.com
What is #possible? "Nothing is impossible for Those Who Want More"
While obtaining employment is the immediate goal for many, sustaining employment and working towards a career is the ultimate test. Teri’s model for career readiness training stretches beyond workforce development to focus on developing a person, not just an employee.
In addition to job training skills like time-management, teamwork, and professionalism, #possible will also focus on the “hard skills”-forgiveness, reconnecting with the community and self-care.
The goal of #possible is not simply to place a person in a long-term job as quickly as possible. Instead, Teri is giving participants the opportunity to learn and grow, then use that experience to secure more permanent employment in a field they have researched and found passion. Teri says, “that focus on the entire life of an individual is what makes us different.”
Classes last 16 weeks and meet from 8:30am-10:30am Monday through Thursday. From 10:30am – 12:30am, participants will work on homework projects. They will all come back together from 1:00pm-2:00 pm to discuss. These discussions will center around what got in their way, coming up with solutions as well as building a sense of community.
